Pyongyang City Sessions
PYC Sessions has had something up our sleeve for a while now. Whilst you lot were all occupied (or not) with our mix of lefty-politics business and bass-music-writing business, we’ve been making tunes.
Bay, Cykl, Stickman and Elsewhere have been an integral part of the PYC collective since the beginning but have maintained a strictly behind-the-scenes profile, mostly owing to the fact that only two are even semi-literate. (We put this highly insulting piece of hyperbole down to an inhuman amount of hours spent probing the inner workings of Logic and Ableton).
The sheer amount of music that gets produced borders on ridiculous, but after much humming and harring over the past couple of weeks, we’ve finally reached a suitable conclusion and we’re proud to present the first official PYC Sessions zip. Inside you’ll find seven exclusive tracks by the artists listed above (all ID3′d correctly, you’ll be glad to know), as well as some photographs and other PYC-related bits.
The sounds inside range eclectically from deep and dark, straight up dubstep (Bay & Cykl) to contemplative 130 bpm bass vibes from Elsewhere via Stickman’s unique take on stripped back D&B, rounded off in proper style by Bay’s acoustically driven sounds.
